Joe Platania On The Ravens Pre Season Finale Tomorrow Night In Atlanta

Joe Platania covers the Ravens for Press Box and pressboxonline.com.

Joe joined Ed and Steve to preview the pre-season finale and talk about roster moves that need to be made.

Steve asked Joe about the prospects of offensive lineman Eugene Monroe and Kelechi Osemele returning for week 1 against Denver. Joe likes the possibility of both being cleared for the opener saying, "both guys returning to practice this week was a really good sign, but then again the team has more depth on the offensive line this year than last. For the first time in team history the Ravens are returning their starting 5 offensive lineman from the year before."

Ed asked Joe how many wide receivers he expects the Ravens will keep on the roster this season. Joe believes the number will end up being 6, "when training camp began it wouldn't have surprised me if they kept five but, I think they're going to go with 6. I think they want to play it safe and go with 6. A name to watch is Darren Waller, the rookie from Georgia Tech."

Joe went on to discuss the likelihood of General Manager Ozzie Newsome making any trades before the season starts, what positions are in need of adding more depth, and who will return punts and kicks this season.
