Salisbury's Downtown Trolley Returns For Second Year

SALSIBURY, Md. (AP) -- A Salisbury bus service called the Downtown Trolley has been resumed in time for the new semester at Salisbury University.

The city officials announced on Thursday that they, along with Salisbury University, were bringing back the Downtown Trolley, a service that connects the downtown area with the university. The service, which launched in August 2014, was scheduled to resume Sept. 3 after taking a brief summer hiatus.

The bus, built to resemble a trolley, is available to Salisbury University students, along with community members. Fares are $1 each way.

The Downtown Trolley runs Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 p.m. until about 2:00 a.m.

The project is funded by a $50,000 grant from the Maryland Transit Administration and a $16,000 per-semester allotment from the city of Salisbury.
