Ravens - Steelers Preview With Tim Benz

Tim Benz with ESPN Radio Pittsburgh called in to the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to help preview this Thursday's showdown between the Ravens and Steelers.

With Ben Roethlisberger suffering a sprained MCL in last weeks game against the Rams, Tim talked about what to expect from back-up Quarterback Michael Vick. "I think Vick still has a strong arm. The arm is still there, I don't know if the legs are there like they used to be. He's still more mobile then Roethlisberger, he won't shed the tackles like Ben did but he can escape them probably better. It looks like he's good deep and he can throw bullets side to side and get those bubble screens set up in time but the mid-range game like it has always been for Vick is where it's been inconsistent and where I think people are curious to see if he can run the offense with the same kind of precision as Roethlisberger."

Tim later talked about the adjustments to the Pittsburgh offense with Vick under center, "I do think they will take some deep shots and they can work the underneath game to Heath Miller and Le'Veon Bell. I do think its going to be a lot on Bell. I think there will be a lot of short stuff, bubble screens and stuff like that maybe a few five yard passes to Heath Miller. Maybe we'll see a little Deangelo Williams being run after just one carry last week. I think they might tinker with the notion of having Bell split wide and then hand the ball to Williams to keep the Ravens guessing."
