Police: Man Arrested For Exposing Himself To Girl On Train

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Maryland man has been arrested on felony child abuse charges after police say he exposed himself to a teenager on a Washington train.

Thirty-seven-year-old Espinosa L. Lopez is in jail without bond, pending a pretrial hearing scheduled for Friday. Metro Transit Police say that on Sept. 11, Lopez boarded a Green Line train at the Georgia Avenue-Pentworth station, sat next to a 13-year-old girl and exposed himself. He then began touching himself.

When the girl asked Lopez to move so she could leave her seat, police say Lopez touched her and asked the girl why she was leaving.

The girl pushed past Lopez, left the train and told a family member about the incident. The family member contacted the police.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Lopez has an attorney.
