O'Malley Va. Campaign Chair Arrested On Child Porn Charges

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A Maryland man with ties to former governor Martin O'Malley's presidential campaign is arrested Friday morning on child pornography charges.

According to our media partner The Baltimore Sun, 51-year-old Michael Teegarden, of Mechanicsville, identified himself as "O'Malley for President 2016, Virginia Chair" on his Twitter account and has actively tweet about the campaign.

O'Malley spokesman Haley Morris told the Sun, "We're horrified by these allegations, and if he is found guilty he should be punished to the full extent of the law."

Teegarden, who was a volunteer, is no long  associated with the campaign.

According to police, a search warrant was executed after information was received that a computer in the residence was being used for online trading of digital child pornography.

Teegarden is facing two counts of felony possession of child pornography.

He is currently being held at Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond.
