Two Men Stabbed In Incident Near Frostburg State University

FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the stabbings of two men early Sunday in an altercation outside an apartment complex near Frostburg State University.

Police say the stabbings occurred at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, and that responding officers disperses a large crowd that had gathered.

The victims were taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Cumberland Times-News reports that an FSU spokesman could not confirm whether either man was a student of the university.

The newspaper reports that witnesses indicated that the stabbings are related to ongoing tensions between students at FSU and at nearby Allegany College in Cumberland.
