Md. Police Bust Vacant Home With Truckloads Of Marijuana

QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- Maryland police officers discovered an indoor drug growing location in the area of Chesterville Bridge Road containing $1.45 million worth of marijuana.

The Queen Anne's County Drug Task Force was called to a property that locals thought might be a marijuana growing operation.

Officials initially visited the home in August, but no occupant ever came to the door.

Although there was a pit bull at the entrance, the property had apparently been vacant, with plywood covering the entire home.

Maryland Police revisited the house with warrants and discovered plants spread throughout the inside.

The plants in the house's basement, some of which were 6-10 feet tall, were well cared for and had a homemade irrigation and fertilizer system in place.

The dog has since been taken by Animal Control and adopted, and police are investigating to find possible suspects.
