Phil Savage On Ravens Front Office Changes Through The Years

Phil Savage is a former NFL front office member, who is now heavily involved in the Senior Bowl as well as a commentator for Alabama football games.

Phil joined Ed and Steve to talk about the struggling Ravens and changes they've made in the front office over the years.

Steve asked Phil what he thinks the problem has been for the Ravens this season. Phil noted that this team struggles lie in their inability to finish games, "I think you have to be inside the building to know the details, but this season has been one of those years where things just aren't going their way."

Ed asked Phil if he thinks the Ravens overestimated the secondary and receivers' abilities going into the season. Phil thinks the Ravens overestimated there depth at these positions saying, "at the receiver spot the situation with Breshad Perriman was hurtful because all the pressure is now on Steve Smith. Defensive back wise they have not had the play making safety and they banked on Jimmy Smith being a shut down pro bowl corner back. They are vulnerable in the back end."

Phil went on to discuss the recent draft history and scouting of the Ravens, how much influence the coaching staff has in drafting players, and the current salary cap situation.
