Remains Of Patricia Will Affect Us Tuesday & Wednesday

BALTIMORE (WJZ/AP) -- The remnants of Hurricane Patricia will slide across the Gulf Coast on Monday, while an area of low pressure drifts across the Intermountain West.

The remnant low associated with Hurricane Patricia will push east northeastward over the Gulf Coast. This system will draw moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, fueling heavy rain and thunderstorms across eastern Texas, the lower Mississippi Valley, the Tennessee Valley and the Southeast. Prolonged heavy rain could lead to flash flooding across the Florida Panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi, western Tennessee, northeast Arkansas, southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and western Kentucky. Just to the north, light rain will develop over the upper Mississippi Valley and the western Great Lakes. A ridge of high pressure will keep conditions cool and dry across the northern Mid-Atlantic, the eastern Great Lakes and New England on Monday.

Tuesday night, the remnants of Patricia will enter the area. We are expecting rain from Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening. We can expect an inch to an inch and a half of rain with locally higher amounts. Flooding could be a concern.
