Charges Dropped Against City Hall Protestors

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Charges have been dropped against 16 people who protested in an hours-long demonstration at city hall.

"All charges for the protesters at City Hall were abated by arrest," said Tammy Brown, a spokeswoman for State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby's office in a statement. "The State's Attorney's Office supports the actions of the Baltimore Police Department to remove these young people to control the situation but under these circumstances believes the arrest in and of itself was sufficient."

The protestors demonstrated during a City Hall hearing on Oct. 14 when city council member approved the appointment of Police Commissioner Kevin Davis.

About 30 protestors remained after the hearing ended. At 4:45 a.m., the protestors including some teens were arrested.
