4-Year-Old Fatally Struck By Tow Truck In Dundalk

DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ) -- A four-year-old was killed in an accident Sunday afternoon.

According to police, they were called to the 1900 block of Jasmine Road shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday for the report of a pedestrian accident.

The accident occurred in an alley off of Jasmine Road.

"I heard the mother screaming, 'My son, my son, he's dead,' I felt very sorry for the family, my blessings go out to the family, said Annie Muncy, who lives nearby.

Police say that a tow truck was driving down the alley and hit the boy. The driver was not injured.

Allen Watkins says it's a constant problem with people constantly flying up and down the alleys.

"They don't watch out for these kids; they are in just a hurry they don't slow down," he said.

Police say the driver of the tow truck did not leave the scene and was not arrested, but the investigation is not over.

"Investigators are going to be going door to door trying to find anyone who may have seen this incident and they're going to be looking closely at the evidence at the scene," said Baltimore County spokesperson John Wachter.

It's still unknown if the child was alone at the time of the accident. Police say there's no indication at this time that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
