Former CIA Manager Sam Faddis To Announce Congressional Bid

DAVIDSONVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Former CIA manager Sam Faddis is scheduled to announce his campaign for Congress.

Faddis is set to launch his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Maryland's 5th Congressional District on Monday in Davidsonville.

It's a seat Democratic Rep. Steny Hoyer has held since 1981.

Faddis is a 20-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency. He worked as a senior manager and operations officer overseas.

Faddis is the author of three books of fiction about CIA counterterrorism operations. He now works as a consultant. He is president of Orion Strategic Services LLC, a security and consulting company that provides services to government and private enterprise.
