John Moag On His Role In Bringing The Ravens To Baltimore

John Moag joined Ken and Steve to talk about his memories in being a major part of bringing the Ravens and the NFL back to Baltimore.

Steve asked John the process of bringing the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore. John said that the process began a year before the announcement was made, "it started roughly a year before. I pretty much changed my mind 3 months into the process and the remaining 9 months was about negotiating with owners interested in the move to Baltimore."

Ken asked John about what his memories are from the day that the move was announced. John noted that it took a while for the move to sink in for the city of Baltimore, "I remember the day vividly. I met Art downtown and asked Al Lerner if he wanted to join us on stage. He told a story that disassociated himself with Art which fractured their relationship. I remember going back to the hotel with Art and having a celebration. It took a long time for us and the entire community to have this sink in."

John went on to discuss the other parties that were involved with discussions to move to Baltimore, why the Browns were the first choice to bring to Baltimore, and whether the NFL and other owners had problems with the Browns making the move to Baltimore.
