"Karate Kid" Villain Has Anti-Bullying Message For Students

CLARYSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- The actor who played the sneering, teenage villain in the 1984 movie, "The Karate Kid," is urging youngsters to be nice.

The Cumberland Times-News reports that Billy Zabka spoke to about 250 people Saturday at an Anti-Bullying Day event at a local martial-arts school.

Zabka says "bullying is never cool." He encouraged the kids to be the heroes of their own stories.

Zabka played Johnny Lawrence, the bullying teenage nemesis of Ralph Macchio's character in the movie.
