BGE To Use Helicopter To Perform Harford County Work

BEL AIR, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore Gas and Electric says people traveling through Harford County shouldn't be alarmed if they see a helicopter hovering near electrical wires.

The power company says that weather permitting it will be using a helicopter to work on electric transmission equipment beginning Tuesday and continuing through Dec. 22 during daylight hours.

BGE says the work will include stringing and fastening new overhead wires. BGE says the helicopter may be seen moving tow ropes for cables and hovering over individual transmission towers.

The power company is asking motorists and others to use caution if they see the work being performed and to focus on traffic.
