Ravens Pay A Special Visit To Hospital Patients Monday

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Ravens had a tough loss on the road Sunday, but Monday, they scored major points bringing smiles to the faces of hospital patients in Baltimore.

Jessica Kartalija has more.

It's a Ravens tradition. This is the twelfth year that the Ravens have visited Union Memorial.

At Union Memorial Hospital, Ravens, Poe and the cheerleaders spent the morning with patients.

"We are out here spreading some holiday cheer and hopefully brightening somebody's day at the hospital," said DE Kapron Lewis-Moore.

"Big surprise," said one. "Win or lose, I'm a big Ravens fan."

They posed for pictures and signed autographs.

"Showing up and seeing them smile makes us smile every time we see that," said Lawrence Guy.

Fans talked about this difficult season for the team.

"It's got to be a tough season for you guys, losing by two points, three points," said one fan.

"We keep going on for every game and every season," said Guy. "We overcome it."

The holiday visit has become a team tradition.

"For the past 12 years, the Ravens have been very gracious to come during the holiday season," said Union Memorial Hospital President Brad Chambers.

Medstar Union Memorial is the medical partner of the Baltimore Ravens.
