Fatal Emmitsburg House Fire Leaves 2 Dead

EMMITSBURG, Md. (WJZ) –Fire and ambulance officials responded to a house fire Monday morning located on 112 West Main Street in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Safety officials said they found heavy smoke at the location, and they were able to immediately find the three victims in the residence.

Geraldine Rachelle Jones, 74, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Diana Lyn Meyer, 43, died in the hospital on Tuesday from injuries she sustained in the house fire.

Donnie Jones, 69, was the only male victim, and he is currently at the University of Maryland's Shock Trauma.

The incident is under investigation, and officials have not yet released any information regarding the cause of the fire.
