Woman's Death Ruled Homicide After Severn House Fire
SEVERN, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say the death of a woman whose body was found after an Anne Arundel County house fire has been ruled a homicide.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner says 59-year-old Diana Lynn Knight of Severn was killed by trauma to the upper body.
The fire broke out early Thursday. After it was brought under control, her body was found in the debris. The body of a man was found the next day and police say his death is still under investigation.
Police say there are "several suspicious factors" in the deaths, but preliminary information indicates "a targeted incident and not a random act of violence."
Officials have said the house was under construction after a fire in February that was ruled accidental.
