Garceau: The Ravens Brought To You 'Buy'

They work hard all week at The Under Armour Performance Center but the results aren't there on Sundays at M&T Bank Stadium. Med Star Sports Medicine (the official medical team of the Baltimore Ravens) is working overtime trying to patch up this team that's been ravaged by injuries.

John Harbaugh's guys need to read the message on those Maryland Lottery Ravens scratch off tickets its right there, "Please Play Responsibly."

Watching the Chiefs go 73 yards with a fumble return touchdown and 90 yards with a pick 6 is hardly playing responsibly. Down on the sidelines players and coaches have their heads buried in their Microsoft Surface tablets, that's great...but take care of the football.

Sunday's game with the Chiefs presented by Snapple ("made from the best stuff on earth") just didn't have a good feel about it. I sensed it before the game while coming down the Ravens Walk (presented by Giant Foods and Utz) the fans just seemed flat. I picked up the aroma of the usual tailgating with fans going to work on their Dietz and Watson (the official franks, sausages, deli meats and cheeses of the Baltimore Ravens) spiced up with their McCormick Grill Mates (preferred spice of the Baltimore Ravens) the same people that sponsor The Red Zone.

I spotted some friends at the Miller Time Tavern, they knew I was working so they got me a Coke Zero (proud partner of the Baltimore Ravens). Entering the stadium it didn't feel right, the Baltimore Marching Ravens (presented by M&T Bank) were doing their thing, a bad team won't get them down, heck they marched for years when we didn't even have a team. The stadium seemed quieter than usual and even Poe (presented by Merritt Athletic Clubs) didn't seem his usual self.

As the Southwest Captain of the game went out for the coin toss you had the feeling this wouldn't be the Ravens day. There was a hearty cheer when Jarrett Johnson was introduced as the Horseshoe Casino Legend of the Game, Double J did it the right way for a long time in Baltimore and someday may have a spot in the Ravens Ring of Honor presented by Smyth Jewelers.

Some of the fans were headed for the exits with the Ravens down 24-7 in the first half, but wait a Clausen to Aiken Hail Mary bomb cut the lead to 24-14 at halftime. There was a lot to watch at the intermission with the T. Rowe Price, the College Savings Plans of Maryland high school Quarterback Challenge and later the Wendy's Rise Football Outreach saluting the state's prep champions.

The Ravens were shutout in the second half and the stadium was nearly empty as the final seconds ticked off the clock, the final; Kansas City 34, Baltimore 14. The Ravens dropped to 4-10 and assured themselves of the worst home record in franchise history. As fans headed home, some driving on Yokohoma Tires, (proud partner of the Baltimore Ravens) they realized that they wouldn't get 50% off their Papa Johns Pizza (official pizza sponsor of the Baltimore Ravens) on Monday, only after a Ravens win.

All this gave me a headache so I stopped at Giant (the official supermarket and pharmacy of the Baltimore Ravens) before returning to my Garceau Realty home where I pulled down the shades on my Thompson Creek Windows and called it a night.

Happy Holidays! (Not sponsored).
