Matt Wieters To Match All Donations For BARCS
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Orioles catcher Matt Wieters is making sure his furrier friends will be a part of the gift-giving season too.
UPDATE: Wieters family increases pledge to $20K for year-end match! This just in, Maria and Matt Wieters, of the Baltimore Orioles, have stepped forward and offered an additional $10,000, on top of their original pledge, to match your year-end, tax-deductible donation.
Wieters announced that he and his wife will match all donations to Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter through Dec. 31.
Wieters is no stranger to helping out BARCS. The Orioles annually pose for the Orioles Pet Calendar, which benefits the shelter with its proceeds.
