Dave Lapham Previews The Steelers At Bengals Playoff Match Up
Dave Lapham is a former offensive lineman for the Cincinnati Bengals and current member of the Bengals broadcast crew.
Dave joined Ed and Steve to preview the Bengals upcoming playoff match-up with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Steve asked Dave about their chances to win with AJ McCarron starting at quarterback. Dave believes that the Bengals are going to have a tough task ahead of them, "I think that the volume of experience is what you're talking about. This will be McCarron's fifth game and fourth start, whereas Dalton has 5 years. AJ has a big time challenge this weekend. I don't think the Bengals will be able to adjust as easily with AJ. The magic number is going to be 21. If Pittsburgh gets more than that then I don't think the Bengals will win."
Ed asked Dave when he thinks Andy Dalton will be ready to return to action. Dave noted that Dalton still has a long way to go before he's ready to play, "Andy is going to be deactivated, he's not close to return yet. In my opinion its probably 50-50 that he could return for the Patriots game should they beat Pittsburgh this weekend."
Dave went on to discuss the reports of Calvin Johnson contemplating retirement, whether a loss this weekend will impact head coach Marvin Lewis' job security, and his thoughts on the talent level of the Ravens current roster.
