Police: 2 Suspects Stole Gun, Tasers & Bullet Proof Vest From MDTA Vehicle

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—Two suspects have been arrested after Baltimore County police say they broke into an MDTA vehicle and stole police equipment, including a .40 caliber handgun.

The investigation began over the weekend on January 9th, when police say the suspects entered a parked Maryland Transportation Authority Police vehicle and stole a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun, gun belt, Taser, two Taser cartridges, bullet proof vest, a laptop computer, camcorder and other items.

Some of the items were later recovered. The handgun, Taser, and computer were not recovered, police said.

On Wednesday, authorities announced the arrest of 23-year-old Kevin Singleton and 18-year-old Tyshaun Clinton Womble, both of Dundalk.

Singleton is charged with theft and related charges. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $100,000 bail.

Womble is charged with theft and related charges. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $50,000 bail.

The incident remains under investigation.
