Snow Trucks Ready For Storm

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) --Officials in Baltimore County say they are ready for the storm.

County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said Friday all non-essential personnel will be sent home at 2 p.m.

Trucks have been moving salt around all morning long.

Baltimore is about as close as you can get to the blizzard bullseye. Everyone knows it's coming.

The smart and safe thing to do is prepare, adjust and cancel what you can.

MTA has already made the call that Light Rail, subways and busses won't be running Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, service is expected to be rolled back -- more on that once the snow arrives.

In Baltimore County, a gathering within the last hour discussed what will and will not be happening during the storm.

"What we are asking the public to do -- especially with this particular storm -- is to just be patient. Our folks are working around the clock to get the job done. But this is not the type of storm that's going to be cleared overnight. This will take several days of cleanup. Recognize that our folks are really working hard to get the job done," Kamenetz said.

Now the public works director stressed he'd like to see people get home early. Don't wait until the last-minute to get home because when these storms happen they need to get their trucks out.
