Baltimore Health Commissioner Extends Code Blue Advisory
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore's health commissioner has extended the city's Code Blue advisory until 10 a.m. Monday due to below-freezing temperatures.
Dr. Leana Wen enacted the advisory Thursday in advance of a massive snowstorm that saw feet of snow accumulate on city streets.
When officials activate a Code Blue advisory, homeless shelters extend their hours and city agencies spring into action to provide meals to senior citizens, offer weatherization services and outreach programs for the city's most vulnerable residents.
