At 2:12 a.m. Saturday, chaos erupts in the heart of Fells Point. Police say a driver--drunk and fleeing a fight--slammed into a young woman.

"Wrong place at the wrong time. Just leaving, getting ready to go home," said Kelley Heuisler.

Heuisler owns Poppy and Stella Boutique across Broadway.

"Just like everyone else, I saw the video and was pretty horrified," Heuisler said.

So she started a GoFundMe page for the victim, Jill Boram.

"Jill and her husband can just focus on getting her better," she said.

"Everybody's trying to to do what they can to help the victim of this really unfortunate scenario," Heuisler said.

The suspect, Orlando Redd, faces seven charges. His lawyer says he was attacked and trying to get away, and never intended to hurt anyone. A judge denied him bail.

Heuisler believes this has not tarnished one of Baltimore's most vibrant neighborhoods.

"The positive that can come from this and how we can rally around somebody is the real takeaway here," she said.

From the victim's mom: "Thank you all for this outpouring of support for my daughter. Please keep her in your prayers today as she has surgery to repair her injuries... they say not life threatening but definitely life altering."

Boram has more surgeries to come.

The suspect's lawyer says his client has turned his life around after prior convictions, and that those have no bearing on this case.
