Derrick Mason Reviews Superbowl 50 And Cam Newton's Post Game Actions

Derrick Mason is a former NFL wide receiver who spent time with the Titans, Ravens, Jets and Texans.

Derrick joined Ed and Steve to talk about Superbowl 50, and get his thoughts on Cam Newton's post-game actions.

Derrick started off by talking about knowing the feeling of losing a Superbowl and give his opinion on Cam Newton's actions saying "it was unfortunate, that was an opportunity for him to show the world that I'm not just a guy that can stand and field questions when we're winning but I'm a leader who can field hard questions when we lose." Derrick also talked about the public reaction to Cam and how his actions changed people's thoughts saying "the Superbowl gave everyone who didn't like him or who were on the borderline reason to pile on him again."

When asked about Cam not going after the fumble late in the game Derrick said "Cam made a decision that might have cost his team a victory or an opportunity for a score or another play." Derrick also talked about thinking Cam made a "business decision" and talked about how if Carolina would have scored on that drive he doesn't think Peyton Manning would have been able to lead Denver down the field.

Derrick finished by talking about a leaked NFL email that brought up a new proposed policy of not having players who are involved with domestic violence be allowed to physically attend the Combine and the NFL Draft.
