Orioles Executive VP Dan Duquette Joins The Hot Stove Show

Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette joined Jim and Roch on the Hot Stove Show to talk about the recent player acquisition rumors and talk about the roster heading into Spring Training.

The interview started with Jim asking about the possibility of signing Yovani Gallardo. "Well we're in the process of upgrading our pitching staff." Hunter then asked if there is anything holding up the possible signing. "We've seen this the last few years that the next tier of players have to lower their asking price. We gave up our draft picks a couple years ago when we signed Jiménez and Cruz but I'm not sure if that will be necessary this time."

The conversation then turned from acquiring possible pitching help to acquiring another outfielder. Dexter Fowler is name that has been linked to the Orioles in the past few days. Fowler hit just .250 last year but is known as a excellent defensive player and a guy who can steal bases. "Fowler is a good player" said Duquette when asked his opinion of Fowler. "He's a center fielder by trade so he's got a lot of good qualities."
