Maryland Live Casino Offering Free Trips To Outer Space

HANOVER, Md. (WJZ) -- It's an out of this world experience that could be yours--a trip to outer space. Maryland Live Casino is making it possible.

Tracey Leong explains how you can get a seat.

It's hard to believe, but in March, four people will be selected to orbit the Earth--and Maryland Live is picking up the $1 million tab.

One small step for man, one giant leap for Maryland Live Casino.

"To do something actually off this planet is something nobody really has even fathomed," said Mario Maesano, Maryland Live Casino.

Space exploration is right at your fingertips, no longer limited to astronauts.

"That would be out of sight," one man said.

"I can win a trip to outer space," another woman said.

The dream of traveling beyond our world could become a reality, thanks to Maryland Live Casino, who will be sending up four people.

The seats aren't cheap. The casino is paying close to $300,000 per traveler.

If you want to win, here's what you need to know--you need to become a Live! Rewards member and use that card every time you play at the casino for the entire month of March.

Players will automatically be entered into a drawing to see a distant galaxy--like astronaut Buzz Aldrin--who is coming to the casino to meet with those aspiring space seekers.

"That's excellent. That'll be a wonderful idea," one woman said.

A once in a lifetime opportunity to experience zero gravity, epic views of the intergalactic world, maybe even snap a selfie with the moon.

"I'll believe it when I see it," one man said.

Finally, a chance to boldly go where few have gone before.

The drawings will happen every Saturday in March from 9 to 11 p.m. You do need to be in the casino if your name is called in order to win.

Trips to space will begin in 2017.

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin will be there next Thursday.
