The Norris & Davis Show Best Of - Week Of February 27th

This week's edition of the Norris & Davis Best Of includes interviews with Orioles relief pitcher TJ McFarland and starting pitcher Chris Tillman as spring training begins and the march toward the regular season continues.

T.J. McFARLAND

T.J. joined Ed and Steve to talk about spring training and the upcoming season.

T.J. started off by talking about saying "anytime you improve your team you have to be happy...but at the same time there are enough guys here who are competing for the team." As for the feeling knowing that Gallardo eliminates a spot for one of those guys competing for a job T.J. said "it's kind of bittersweet but at the end of the day it helps the team win which is what we all want to do."

T.J. has the label of being a Buck guy and was asked what does that mean to be a Buck guy and said "just a guy that goes out and does his job, I pride myself on my hard work and that I'm durable...when you're called upon you do your job no questions asked and you're successful."

T.J. also talked about off-season workouts, teammates who have come into camp in shape, and possible rule changes and how they would change his game.

CHRIS TILLMAN

Chris joined Ed and Steve to talk about spring training and the upcoming regular season.

Chris started off by talking about what were the reasons for his struggles last year saying "it was a little bit of everything, it was what I always talk about which is being consistent...It's something I kind of had to work through and been able to make adjustments on the fly and last year I was one batter or one pitch too late."

As for what it means to the pitchers to have Matt Wieters coming back to the line-up Chris said "it means a lot, it really does, he's a guy that is going to run the pitching staff to the best of his ability...he knows all of us inside and out and it's a major plus to have a guy back there who has been our backstop for 5 years or even longer."

Chris also talked about his off-season workout plan and trying to come into camp in the best shape of his life.
