Person Injured When Train, Car Crash In Western Md.

IJAMSVILLE, Md. (AP/WJZ) -- Authorities say a person was hospitalized after a car crashed with a freight train in western Maryland.

The Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services officials report the crash happened early Tuesday along Ijamsville Road in Ijamsville.

Battalion Chief Kevin Fox says a pair of locomotives hit the vehicle where the road crosses the track. Fox says the driver was taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown for treatment, but Fox did not know the extent of that person's injuries.

The driver of the 2009 Jaguar has been identified as Nolan D. Clifford. Alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash, police say.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
