National Park Service Revises Cherry Blossom Forecast

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The National Park Service is revising its forecast for the peak bloom for Washington's cherry blossoms, a colorful sign of spring.

The Park Service is now forecasting that March 23 and 24 will be the start of peak bloom for cherry blossoms. An earlier forecast put the peak between March 18 and March 23.

But the park service says cooler temperatures this week put back the much-anticipated peak date.

Once in bloom, the flowers can last four to 10 days, depending on weather conditions.
