The Norris & Davis Show Best Of - Week Of March 19th

This week's edition of the Norris & Davis Show Best Of is full of Terps coverage just prior to the NCAA Tournament. We have interviews with former Terp turned Big Ten Network analyst Drew Nicholas, Maryland Women's Head Coach Brenda Frese, and Former Terp Keith Booth all talking about the Terps Men and Women starting their quest for a National Championship.

DREW NICHOLAS

Drew started off by talking about the Terps being a 5 seed in the tournament and if they were seeded properly saying "I thought a 5 seed was right where they should be." As for any glaring oversights by the selection committee Drew said "I think Monmouth a little bit, when you look at their body of work and winning on the road...Monmouth was excellent and who wouldn't have like to see the Monmouth bench on the one shining moment."

As for the Maryland game against Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament and how things could've gone differently Drew said "you've got to find a way to get easy points...if you sit there and play a defensive game you're playing right into their hands."

Drew also talked about the Terps side of the bracket and the tough tests they will face along the way should they survive and advance.

BRENDA FRESE

Coach Frese started off by talking about their opponent this weekend in Iona and the challenges they bring to Maryland saying "we were able to get some film last night, obviously they won their conference...they're a very athletic team, they're very guard oriented and they love to shoot the three."

As for the team's consistency year in and year out and how they're able to achieve that Coach Frese said "we're really proud of that consistency and it goes to our recruiting, we're very fortunate at Maryland to get some of the best recruits in the country...these kids work really hard though we have three kids who are Pre-Med majors, we work hard in the classroom and on the court."

Coach Frese also talked about who is the team to beat in this tournament and how she hopes to make it to the National Championship to see Connecticut again.

KEITH BOOTH

Keith started off by talking about if teams look at the Tournament as a fresh start and a new season saying "it's definitely a new season, coach's at the college level talk to the guys about having a non-conference season, a conference season and a post season...regardless of what happens in the conference now you get a new season."

Keith also talked about if there is a bias over the small schools in favor of the big programs saying "there has been a lot of arguing the last couple days about who should be in and who should be out...you'd like to see a team like Monmouth get rewarded for the season they had but when you look back at the wins they had early in the season that seemed big at the time don't look so great right now."

Keith went on to talk about filling out brackets around his house for fun with his fiance, and Keith gave out his Final Four which included the Terps coming out of the South.
