Ken Singleton Gives His Preview Of The Orioles As The Regular Season Approaches

Ken Singleton is a former Orioles player who is now a member of the Yankees broadcast team for the Yes Network.

Ken joined Ed and Steve to talk about the Orioles and the Yankees as spring training winds down and the regular season approaches.

Ken started by talking about when you should start looking at spring training as an indication of what will happen during the regular season saying "I would think with about ten days to go in spring training you should look ready to go for the regular season." As for Chris Tillman being named the opening day starter and what he saw from Tillman last time out against the Yankees Ken said "It wasn't a great day for pitchers Tillman was ok, he wasn't great and he wasn't bad...if Buck Showalter feels he's the man then he's the man."

When Ken was asked about the spending by the Orioles this off-season in reference to Chris Davis and players they lost he said "the going rate was a 162 million and they gave it to him...Wei Yin Chen I would have made more of an effort to keep him cause he was the only lefty." As for the addition of Yovani Gallardo and what to expect from him Ken said "I think he'll do okay, I think he'll win more than he loses."

Ken also talked about Joey Rickard and how he should not only make the team but he should be the team's lead-off hitter, and he chimed in on the smokeless tobacco issue.
