The Norris & Davis Show Best Of - Week Of April 2nd

This week's edition of the Norris & Davis Best Of includes interviews with Orioles 1st Baseman Chris Davis and Orioles Manager Buck Showalter.

CHRIS DAVIS

Chris started off by talking about re-signing with the Orioles saying "I'm happy and I'm back where I want to be, the free agency process was grueling but it was worth it." As for how much his love of Baltimore played into coming back he said "it was a big part of my decision, looking back toward the end of the season last year the way the fans embraced me and wanted me back...this is a first class organization and I wanted to stay in a place I was comfortable and a place I could win."

When asked if the new big contract was putting pressure on him and if he could feel the pressure Chris said "there is a lot of accountability that goes on in our clubhouse and that's where the pressure comes from...for me it's a weight off my shoulders knowing where I'm going to be for the next couple years."

Chris also talked about Twitter and whether or not he allows trolls to get to him or if he pays attention to the keyboard haters at all, and the use of smokeless tobacco in the majors.

BUCK SHOWALTER

Buck started off by talking about the Orioles pitching rules against throwing cutters and whether there is a policy like that saying "of course not...we had three pitchers throwing cutters last night, I let pitching coaches be pitching coaches and pitchers be pitchers." As for Jake Arrieta's success and his thoughts Buck said "this organization did a lot for Jake with opportunity and we are all excited about the success he is having."

Buck talked about being excited for pitcher Dylan Bundy saying "we're excited about the success he has had down here this spring and we're anxious to see if that carries over into the season." As for Joey Rickard and the way he's playing Buck said "I keep talking about him because people are asking me about him because he's playing well."

Buck also talked about how to interpret spring training records and performances and what it means for the regular season.
