First Responders To Get Free Adoptions Through Baltimore Humane

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- They say the best things in life are free, but man's best friend still costs money.

That's no longer true, however, for our area's first responders, as the Baltimore Humane Society announces no-cost pet adoptions for local police officers, firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians.

Family members of those who have died in the line of duty will also receive free adoptions.

"This is our way of saying thank you for all that our first responders do," says Baltimore Humane Society's Wendy Goldband, Director of Marketing & Public Relations.

"All of us at the shelter would like to express gratitude for the role that these brave individuals play in keeping our community safe."

The no-kill shelter also offers a free pet adoption program to all active, reserve, and retired military called Pets for Patriots.
