Orioles Manager Buck Showalter Talks Replay In Baseball And Player Safety

Buck Showalter is the current Manager of the Baltimore Orioles.

Buck joined the Norris and Davis Show to talk about the Orioles' great start to the season.

Showalter started off by talking about the check-swing bad call in a recent Orioles loss and whether it should lead to camera replay usage saying, "I hope so, that's how replay started...it's a 30 second review or non-review and you get it right."

As for the Orioles' use of replay and the team's replay guy, Buck said, "there is some stuff that needs to get worked out, our replay guy that we have doing it is really the best in the business."

As for whether or not replay or cameras should be used in balls and strikes Buck said, "the only problem you're going to have with it is stances and height of players...it's pretty complicated because guys have different strikes depending upon how tall they are." As for the job the umpires have ahead of them in judging games Buck said, "it's an impossible game to be perfect in."

Buck also talked about the brawl between the Rangers and the Rays involving player safety, and talked about why the team has has had such a great start to the season.
