Astros Defeat Orioles 4-2
HOUSTON (WJZ) -- It was the final game of a series in Houston Thursday and a house of horrors for Orioles hitters: two straight defeats, punctuated by punch-outs.
In the first inning, Adam Jones was the first strike out victim. On Tuesday night, the O's struck out 19 times and Wednesday night, they struck out 18 times.
Hun-Soo Kim was the only Oriole who had not struck out in the series---until Thursday. There were 15 more strike outs for the O's.
From a strikeout streak to a home run streak: Astros slugger Luis Valbuena feasted on O's pitching in this series. A home run off Kevin Gausman gave Houston the lead in the second inning. That's three homers for Valbuena in the three-game series.
George Springer homered twice tonight. It ended with a 4-2 O's defeat, their fourth straight loss as O's hitters struggled on the road trip.
