Cal Ripken On The O's Striking Out And Hyun Soo Kim's Cultural Adjustments

Cal Ripken Jr is a former Orioles legend who played short stop and third base for the team.

Cal joined Ed and Steve to talk about the O's and other happenings around Major League Baseball.

Cal started by talking about the Orioles striking out 37 times in the last two games saying, "a strikeout is just an out, there are times in the game when it's the worst thing that can happen and you absolutely cannot strikeout...there were time in my career where I could stop anyone from striking me out but then you become ineffective as a hitter."

Cal also talked about Hyun Soo Kim and the kind of adjustments it takes to go to a foreign country and try to play baseball saying, "I think it is a big adjustment, I think of my teammates who went and played in Japan I've heard them speak of how difficult it is...in order to play well you have to be relaxed and part of being relaxed is being comfortable in your situation and with everything around you."

Cal also talked about his son Ryan who is a part of the Nationals farm system and what it's like to watch his son play professional baseball.
