Police: Two Men Dead, Two Injured In Series Of Shootings
BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- At least two men were killed, a third man was clinging to life and a fourth was seriously injured after a series of shootings played out across Baltimore Wednesday night, according to police.
An officer on patrol in West Baltimore heard gunfire ring out before 6 p.m. He traced the sound to the 1200 block of North Carey Street, where he found a 22-year-old man shot multiple times inside a home. Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.
In a separate shooting reported in the Oldtown neighborhood about 8 p.m., officers found a 24-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body in the 500 block of McElderry Street. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
About an hour later, officers dispatched to Cherry Hill for a shooting found a 17-year-old who had been shot multiple times in the back and legs in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road. The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment where, at last check, he was listed in serious condition.
About 9:15 p.m., a reported shooting led police to the 2400 block of Frederick Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a 29-year-old man who had been shot in the head. The victim had been sitting on some steps in the block when police say a black vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire. He was rushed to the hospital, but due to his grave condition, homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
