Girl, 13, Suffers Graze Wound to Head; 3 Others Injured In Overnight Shootings

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Baltimore Police are investigating four shootings, including one that injured a 13-year-old girl in the head early Saturday morning.

Police say shots rang out late Friday night in the 4700 block of Old York Road.

At the scene they found a 21-year-old who suffered a gunshot wound to the groin. He is expected to survive.

Detectives learned that the victim and several friends were participating in illegal activities when an unknown gunman exited a silver car, yelled "kick it out" and opened fire.

Three hours later, police responded to another shooting in the 400 block of S. Monroe Street.

Investigators say a 42-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being shot in his torso.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect opened fire from their burgundy colored vehicle while the victim was walking on his block.

Around 2:00 a.m. in the 1200 block of Washington Boulevard., police say a 13-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to the head and a 27-year-old woman was shot in the chest. Both were released from the hospital.

According to investigators, the two victims were outside with a group of people when an unidentified shooter opened fire on the victims. Police are not sure if they were the intended targets.
