Authorities: 2 Missing After Boat Capsizes In Potomac River

POINT OF ROCKS, Md. (AP) — Maryland Natural Resources Police say a search for two missing boaters in the Potomac River in Frederick County has shifted from a rescue operation to a recovery effort.

Spokeswoman Candy Thomson says the search resumed Monday morning near Point of Rocks for 62-year-old Lawrence Grey Jr. of Brunswick and 51-year-old Robert E. Lee of Frederick.

Their capsized boat was found Sunday near the south end of Heater's Island, downstream from the boat ramp where they began their fishing trip early Sunday morning.

Thomson says divers are working the area with sonar devices, and officers are walking the river banks and the shoreline of the island.
