Man Accused Of Shooting Father At Service For Slain Brother Identified, Charged
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The suspect in Tuesday's shooting at the New Song Worship & Arts Center in Baltimore has been identified as 25-year-old Antonio Addison, of the 1600 block of Walterswood Road in Baltimore.
He has been charged with attempted 1st degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment and various firearm charges after police say he pulled a gun on his own father at a service for his 22-year-old brother, also named Antonio Addison, who was murdered last month.
The center on Calhoun Street was packed with mourners who saw everything.
"They got into some sort of an argument at this repast over what was said or how it was said at the funeral, and the suspect in this case decided to pull out a gun that he brought with him to this event and shot his own father," said T.J. Smith of the Baltimore Police Department.
The victim, who is 47 years old, was listed in serious but stable condition Tuesday. Police say he has non-life-threatening injuries.
The 25-year-old Addison's injuries, police say, came from an altercation with other family members after the shooting.
