Bob Haynie: The Orioles Crown The Royals

The Kansas City Royals came to Baltimore having lost four-straight and were struggling to score runs. Over the course of three games at Camden Yards, the Orioles added to K.C.'s woes in a big way.

The Birds registered a three-game sweep and in the process outscored last season's World Series Champs 17-2. In Wednesday night's series finale, Right-handers Chris Tillman and Brad Brach combined to shutout the Royals 4-0.

Of course, we had the Manny Machado-Yordano Ventura two-step on Tuesday night which added to the fun. So even though Kansas City has been quiet with the bats, we still had plenty of fireworks during the series.

After getting drubbed by the Red Sox in the first two games of the 10-game home stand, the Orioles responded by winning seven of their last eight. The Orioles are now a very impressive 24-11 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The Birds are now off to Toronto to face the Blue Jays for four games. The Blue Jays have won six of ten games and are in third place in the AL East.

The Orioles were 3-6 at Rogers Centre in 2015 and have had their share of drama with the Blue Jays over the last few seasons.

It should be an entertaining weekend as these two teams get reacquainted and the Orioles try to maintain their lead in the division.
