Come On Down! 'The Price Is Right' Holds Baltimore Auditions

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Price is Right comes to Baltimore. The popular game show seen on WJZ put out a casting call and auditioned dozens of would-be contestants.

And as Pat Warren reports, as you might expect, they also got a chance to win prizes.

Contestants were up as early as WJZ's Ron Matz...

"And I'm ready for them to holler, 'Marlene Arthur, come on down!'" she said.

All you need is a reason.

"I want to be on The Price is Right because I want to win prizes, money, cash and have a good time," one would-be contestant said.

"It's always been my dream," said another.

"For me to be on The Price is Right would be a dream come true," one woman said.

"And I just about know all the prices on everything," a man said.

A booth-like game was provided by the Maryland Lottery, which sponsored Friday's audition at the Horseshoe Casino to showcase its Price is Right $50,000 scratch-off.

"I came down and they say The Price is Right on the news this morning, Channel 13. I said, 'I'm going to go down there,'" said Annie Coleman.

For a chance to go down to Contestant's Row.

"I'd like to be able to do this and have everybody I know see me on television," one woman said.

And even better -- the Maryland winners' friends and families can watch them play on WJZ.

Two winners will be chosen by the show. One is guaranteed to be on Contestant's Row.
