WEATHER BLOG: Cooler Temps Ahead

A strong pressure gradient persists across the region as we are squeezed between an area of low pressure near Nova Scotia and and area of high pressure over the Midwest. As a result, less humid air is streaming into the area allowing this Sunday to feel more comfortable than yesterday. An ongoing breeze will continue into Monday, but Monday will also be noticeably cooler. Look for highs topping out on a more seasonable note and in the lower 80s with plenty of sunshine. We will be watching an upper level low currently over southern Cali this week. That is expected to track eastward across the US, develop a surface low in the Plains and then bring us rain by Friday.
