BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A woman and her baby are in critical condition after the woman, who was 8 months pregnant, was shot in the abdomen and her baby had to be removed early Monday morning in Baltimore.

Just after 12 a.m., police say an Eastern District patrol officer heard several gunshots in the area of E. North Avenue at Greenmount Avenue.

Upon responding, he saw two individuals laying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.

A 21-year-old pregnant female who was shot in the lower abdomen was transported to an area hospital where the baby was removed. Both the mother and the baby are in critical but stable condition.

The other gunshot victim, a 30-year-old male, is also in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

Charges are forthcoming for the man, because police say he had 17 vials of a substance suspected to be cocaine on his person.

A short time later, officers were called to the 400 block of E. Lanvale Street where a third shooting was located.

That victim, a 25-year-old male, had been shot multiple times in the left arm and was later transported to an area hospital and is suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

Citywide shooting detectives are investigating both these incidents and have no suspect information in either case. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call (410) 396-2221 or call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

On Sunday night, around 10 p.m., officers responded to St. Agnes Hospital for a walk-in shooting victim.

The 23-year-old man told police he was driving in the area of Edmondson Village with the windows down when he heard a single gunshot and realized he had been shot in his right wrist. He drove himself to the hospital.
