Dozens Evacuated Due To Baltimore Apartment Fire

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Dozens of people were forced from their homes due to an apartment fire in Baltimore City. It happened around 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Druid Park Lake Drive.

When units arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the ground level in the rear of Lakeview Towers.

According to fire officials, at least 60 people were evacuated from the building. Three families were displaced as a result.

There were no injuries and smoke and water damage was minimal.

Investigators say the fire started from construction materials in the parking lot and spread up the back wall of the apartment building to the fifth floor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
