BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- A fire that ripped through a vacant, two-story home in Colesville overnight is under investigation, authorities said Tuesday morning.

The house fire was reported in the 400 block of Norwood Road about 1:40 a.m., according to a tweet from Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer.

When crews arrived at the scene, flames could be seen shooting from second-story windows. It took more than 50 firefighters several hours to get the fire under control, Piringer wrote.

No one was hurt, according to the fire department.

The blaze caused an estimated $250,000 in damage.
