Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Police Cruiser In Maryland

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)-- A person has died after being struck by a police cruiser on Sunday morning in Prince George's County.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, it happened around 2:30 a.m. near Riggs Road at University Boulevard.

Police say an officer was traveling westbound on University Boulevard when they struck a pedestrian that was apparently not in a cross walk.

"The officer immediately began rendering aid until medical personnel arrived," police said

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing their investigation.
