Police: Cyclist, 31, Killed in Montgomery County Crash

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- The death of a 31-year-old Silver Spring man struck by a car while crossing the street Sunday in Aspen Hill is under investigation.

A 2003 Honda Accord driven by Williams Alfo Cordova Siguenza, 42, of Carney Street, was heading east on Veirs Mill Road near Turkey Branch Parkway about 1:21 p.m. when it hit a cyclist in the marked portion of the crosswalk, according to Montgomery County Police.

The cyclist, identified as Oscar Mauricio Gutierrez Osorio, 31, of Teaberry Road, did not survive.

Siguenza was taken to the hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
